Skupljaci Perja, a film by Aleksandar Sasa Petrovic is one of the best film from Balkanian region! It's not just my own opinion. Whay!? It was an poem and sensuous originally made film, about live. Very sensitive, but with a passion. It is made in a way like Italian Newrealisam. With two excellent Serbian actors, Bata Zivojinovic and Bekim Fehmiu, this director successful had doing idea, which hi had imagine before the filming. It maybe some of the best film in the world if we just looking at film atmosphere, which Sasa as film-director have making. Also after this film Sasa start to be idol of many directors in the world. One of theme are now, some of the best in the World. His gypsy aesthetic start to be alphabet for many others film titles. In Balkanian region it means that Sasa was a good teacher for younger colleagues as Emir Kusturica and Slobodan Sijan. And everywhere and every time Themselves thanks to Sasha. Best regards! In 1967, when Skupljaci perja was released, it attracted international acclaim and elevated the director, Aleksandar Petrovic, to the first rank of European directors. The film was nominated for the Academy Award for best foreign film?actually won that year by Ji?ø Menzel's Ost?e sledované vlaky (Closely Observed Trains)?and the same year it won the Special Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. The following year it was nominated for a Golden Globe.

In fact, Petrovic was one of three directors who effectively dominated Novi Film tendencies throughout the 1960s, the others being zivojin Pavlovic and the much more well-known Dusan Makavejev, later to achieve international fame and some measure of lasting notoriety with his film WR: Mysteries of the Organism (1970).

The Novi Film movement did not have a specific program but can perhaps best be seen as one aspect of the major changes taking place in Yugoslav society during the 1960s. As society moved towards a greater level of democratisation and decentralisation, filmmakers too began to demand the right to greater individual artistic expression and more freedom from bureaucratic control.

They also wanted more leeway for experimentation with the form of film and in particular they wanted to be able to address the more negative aspects of their society and of human existence in general. Nevertheless, these goals were still to be realised within the context of a Socialist state, and not in opposition to it. One might look at this as an early expression of the famous "Socialism with a human face" that the Czechs were to make their own in 1968.

What does Christianity, 911 and The Federal Reserve have in common?
Zeitgeist was created as a not for profit expression to inspire people to start looking at the world from a more critical perspective and to understand that very often things are not what the population at large think they are. Zeitgeist The Movie is a film exploring the relationship between Christianity, 9/11 and the Federal Reserve Bank. It was released in 2007 on Google Video and is available for free distribution. It is achieving notoriety very quickly, as of July 5th 2007 a specific google search shows 83,600 hits.
Divided into three parts, (Part I: "The Greatest Story Ever Told", Part II: "All The World's A Stage", and Part III: "Don't Mind The Men Behind The Curtain"), Zeitgeist is designed to prompt the audience into questioning their own beliefs on the subjects of US involvement in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Christian theology, the Federal Reserve System, and the decreasing status of personal freedoms in the United States of America due to introductions of laws and organizations such as The Department of Homeland Security and the Patriot Act

Part I: The Greatest Story Ever Told
Part I deals with the origins of Christianity in paganism and the parallels between Jesus and the Egyptian god, Horus. This part also documents a series of biblical passages which aim to prove that Christian theology is nothing more than an extrapolation of preexisting texts and that The Bible is nothing more than an astrotheological literary hybrid.

Part II: All The World's a Stage
Part II deals primarily with 9/11 and asserts that it was a false flag operation in order to provide public backing for the US Establishment to continue its agenda in the Middle East and at home. It also suggests that the bombings in London that took place on the 7th of July, 2005 were orchestrated by the state.

Part III: Don't Mind The Men Behind The Curtain
Part III details a theory starting with the creation of the Federal Reserve System, the central banking system of the United States to current day in which the American people are being swindled from war to war at the benefit of private contractors and a closed circle of powerful men in order to boost economic prosperity. The movie postulates that every war entered into by the U.S. starting with World War I has been the result of forced provocation through secret U.S. involvement in cloak and dagger operations in order to goad the American public into supporting the wars. The ultimate goal of which is expansion of United States foreign interests and prolonged sustainment of conflict overseas to increase military spending, thereby boosting profits for corporations tied to polititians and the elite.

Film adaptation of a great Dusan Kovacevic's novel - equally good. Recognizable a la Kovacevic humor, full of absurdness, self-irony, sharp and spiritual. Great critic of a dead ideology and authoritarian character translated into a black-humor paranoia of a small man - ideology slave. Brilliant, unforgettable Bata Stojkovic's acting gave this feature strength and rare authentic movie-expression.

One of the most popular ex. Yugoslavian movies in the Croatia. Exellent description of our past political system in a very funny way.

Then the war breaks and their friendship is eclipsed by their nationalities and religions. Instead of songs and laugh there are scenes of violence and killings. And the way in which Zafranovic has shown all that hatred between Croats and Serbs, Nazis and Jews is superb and frightening at the same time. I must mention one more scene that amazed me. It is the scene of striptease in the whorehouse. Maybe that's because of Tanja Boskovic, who is, in my humble opinion, the sexiest Serbian actress ever, but the camera work with cruising along the room and shooting it all at once with sliding back and out of the room with Tanja naked and the statue in front in the same pose is magnificent.

A film contents shocking scenes of bus massacre that marks this movie as most disturbing picture ever filmed in Yugoslavia.In that scene,a group of imprisoned Jews (including Miho and his father),Serbs and communists was put into the bus.In the bus,a group of "Ustasha"'s killed one by one prisoner (all civilians)by most horrific methods,such as: a ortodox priest's tongue was cut out, so as one woman's nipple; few people were killed by sledgehammer; Miho's father was decapitated...And that's not just in film-"Ustasha"'s perpetrated a horrible massacres and killed thousands of innocent people during WW2.This film shows "ustasha"'s in only possible way-as a savage beasts.That's reason why this movie and director Lordan Zafranovic were on blacklist in Croatia,during reign of pro-"Ustasha" nationalist's dictature in that country (1990.-2000.). This movie shows one of the darkest chapters in history of Balcan.
